JOAN MIRO

Joan Miro (April 20,1893 – December 25, 1983), was a Catalonian painter, sculptor and ceramicist, was known for his interest in the unconscious or subconscious mind. Heavily influenced by Surrealism, Fauvism and Cubism, Miro developed an intense dislike of bourgeois art, which he believed was used as a way to promote propaganda. Miro significantly influenced 20th century art, particularly the abstract expressionist artists such as Calder, Pollack and Rothko as well as modern designers and recent painters.
